AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Infinitum, creator of the breakthrough air core motor, today announced it has won the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) 2022 Innovator of the Year Award. Infinitum was recognized in this year’s program for the company’s significant innovations in technology and manufacturing.

The Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to strengthening the manufacturing community through advocacy, workforce development, and networking. The annual ARMA awards recognizes the contributions of individuals and corporations within the Central Texas manufacturing community.

Austin, Texas – February 13, 2023 – (BUSINESS WIRE) — Infinitum, creator of the breakthrough air core motor, today announced it has been named a finalist in the 2023 Edison Awards. The company is being honored in the Sustainability category for its Aircore EC motor designed for commercial and industrial applications. The Edison Awards™, named after the American inventor Thomas Alva Edison, recognizes some of the most innovative products and business leaders in the world with past winners including Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, General Motors and Genentech. The prestigious accolades honor excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation.

Currently electric motors consume 53% of the world’s electricity. More than 800m motors are sold yearly, a number that is increasing 10% each year with electrification. Today, the majority of motors end up in landfills after 10-20 years, but Infinitum’s advances in circular motor design are allowing for extended component life and reuse.

The Aircore EC motor replaces heavy iron found in traditional motors with a lightweight printed circuit board (PCB) stator that is 10x more reliable. The motor is 50 percent smaller and lighter, uses 66 percent less copper and no iron, and consumes 10 percent less energy. Its modular design makes the motor easy to maintain and allows components to be reused multiple times to serve future generations, keeping the motor in service and out of landfills.

Aircore EC also includes a unique, integrated Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) which takes advantage of silicon carbide (SiC) technology to provide precise control over motor operations and saves upwards of 65 percent of energy use depending on the application.

Atlanta – February 7, 2023 – Today at the AHR Expo, Infinitum announced a strategic technology collaboration with Infineon Technologies, a global semiconductor leader in power systems and IoT that drives decarbonization and digitalization with its products and solutions. Infinitum is the creator of the breakthrough, sustainable air core motor, and this collaboration solidifies Infinitum’s production of sustainable, high-efficiency motors that reduce carbon footprint using Infineon’s solutions.

Infinitum’s motor systems were recognized with three 2023 CES Innovation Award designations for outstanding design and engineering in the sustainability and embedded technologies categories. Infinitum’s patented air-core motor design replaces heavy iron used in traditional motors with a lightweight, printed circuit board (PCB).

The company’s motors are 50 percent smaller and lighter, 10 percent more efficient and use 66 percent less copper than traditional motors. Highly efficient motor system reduces energy consumption and power required for data centers

Atlanta, Georgia – Feb. 6, 2023 – Infinitum, creator of the breakthrough air core motor, today announced at the AHR Expo a next-generation, sustainable motor designed specifically for data center cooling applications. The new motor system extends Infinitum’s award-winning Aircore EC line of motors and meets the unique needs of data centers to reduce power requirements and energy consumption.

Data centers currently consume two percent of the world’s energy and their energy demand is expected to increase eightfold by 2030. Forty percent of the energy consumed in data centers is from motors powering cooling equipment, such as fans, pumps, and compressors to reduce heat generated by servers. Many of the fan systems used to cool data centers today use motors that have more horsepower than the application requires.

Infinitum’s Aircore EC motor for data centers can be customized to meet the application’s specific horsepower, speed and torque requirements, while still achieving performance targets to reduce energy consumption by more than 10-15 percent. It also means the input current required by the motor can be minimized, opening a significant opportunity to reduce the wiring and protection equipment needs of the electric utility that powers the data center, allowing data center designers to save costs on upstream electrical infrastructure including wiring, circuit breakers and transformers.

Infinitum’s new Aircore EC motor for data centers features an integrated variable frequency drive (VFD) to optimize motor control and efficiency, as well as smart features, such as IoT connectivity to monitor critical equipment and BACnet and Modbus controllers to optimize building operations. The new Aircore EC motor system for data center applications will be available beginning in Q3 of 2023.

Sustainable, air core, axial flux, liquid cooled e-mobility motor achieves superior power density and efficiency to extend vehicle range for applications that drive, fly or sail.

January 5, 2023 – Las Vegas, NV – (BUSINESS WIRE)–Consumer Electronics Show (CES) – Infinitum, creator of the breakthrough air core motor, today announced Aircore Mobility, an award-winning, next generation, axial flux propulsion and traction motor designed to sustainably power passenger and commercial electric vehicles, as well as aviation, marine, construction, agricultural machines and auxiliary applications. The Aircore Mobility motor delivers high power and torque density and operates with class-leading efficiency over a wide range of speeds and load conditions to maximize vehicle range, whether on road, off road, on water or in the air.

The Aircore Mobility motor replaces the heavy, copper wound iron stator found in traditional motors with a lightweight, printed circuit board (PCB) stator that is 10x more reliable. When compared to conventional motors, it is 10 percent more efficient, 50 percent smaller and lighter, and uses 66 percent less copper. By replacing the iron core with a PCB stator, mechanical losses are reduced, efficiency is increased and noise and vibration are significantly reduced. The Aircore Mobility motor is covered by 32 issued patents and 44 pending patents and will be generally available in Q2 2023.

Leveraging its unique PCB stator design, the Aircore Mobility motor can achieve up to 4-5x the current density of a conventional, liquid cooled motor using a liquid cooling technique that allows the coolant to be in direct contact with the stator, mitigating heat across a larger surface area, enabling high overload capability and extended life.
