Infinitum Wins 2022 Sustainability Award from Business Intelligence Group
Electric air-core motor designed for reuse recognized in the Sustainability Product of the Year category
AUSTIN, Texas –(BUSINESS WIRE)–Infinitum, creator of the breakthrough air-core motor, today announced it has been named a recipient of the Business Intelligence Group’s 2022 Sustainability Awards in the Sustainability Product of the Year category. The Sustainability Awards honor the people, teams and organizations who reflect sustainability in their overall mission, making sustainability an integral part of their business practice.
Infinitum’s air-core motor is designed with future generations in mind, going beyond efficiency and taking the entire lifecycle into account by using fewer resources to produce it, less energy to run it and a commitment to remanufacture it.
Using lightweight, reusable materials and modular design, Infinitum’s air-core motors generate the same power in half the weight and size, at a fraction of the carbon footprint and noise of traditional motors. The Infinitum motor – including its housing, rotors and magnets – can be refurbished and used in remanufacturing, re-using a majority of components to build another motor, and giving the components a second and third life.
“As industrial motors contribute to 38 percent of global electricity consumption, increasing the efficiency, life and reuse of these motors can help the sector reduce the world’s carbon footprint,” said Ben Schuler, founder and CEO of Infinitum. “Motors designed to go beyond conventional limits can serve the next generation by staying in service and out of landfills.”
“We are proud to reward and recognize Infinitum for their sustainability efforts,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world. Congratulations!”
